{PHOTOS} Cocoa Village: A Photo-Journey Around Town

My wonderful husband bought me a five year anniversary gift, a Nikon D3100, and I was just itching to get out and take some pictures. I'll admit, I was nervous because as I was driving home the sun was fading fast and I have never had a camera that was good at taking shots at night. I shouldn't have been nervous, because taking pictures with this camera was like upgrading from a Pinto to a Cadillac. Every command, every manual change I made, it listened and didn't try to "automate" me to death like my past cameras. Here's the results of my first walkabout with the camera. I wandered "Cocoa Village" in Cocoa, FL, a wonderful neighborhood of restaurants, stores, bars, and even apartments all right along the riverfront.

I would love to hear which ones are your favorites!

{FUN STUFF} I am a Perpetual Kid

I have to be honest, I have been putting together my Christmas list for a couple months now. You know, a little item here, a bigger item there, a REALLY big item over there, and so on. So, I was wandering around the internet, as I have a tendency to do when I want  to avoid actually doing the dishes, sweeping, etc and found this site, Perpetual Kid: Entertain Your Inner Child, and I was immediately intrigued. I am such a kid at heart and anything silly or fun that makes me laugh is always a winner. So, here's the top items I found on here that I think would be just AWESOME and make anyone's day a little brighter.

I'll admit it, I say this phrase a lot and my husband ALWAYS looks at me like I am insane.
It prevents me from having a worse sailor mouth than I already have.

Watch out, or I might sick my ninja cookie on you.

Perfect for Florida since we never even get a chance to make a Frosty the snowman. I am sad now.

No normal snuggie would do for this gal, so a sesame street character? Oh, yeah!

Anyone who knows me well has seen me with many notes written on my hands, otherwise I WILL forget. Now with this, I would have an awesome template to work off of but it would have to be the back of my hand because on my palm I wouldn't see it and would still forget.

There are so many more awesome things on this site. You should check it out!

{PHOTOS} NASA's Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad

I've been prepping for a major festival for this weekend and it finally motivated me to really get into my "stock" photos and edit (FINALLY!). I just wanted to share some photos that I have let sit around unedited for quite a while. Bad, bad, bad, I know! Finally, some photos I have of the NASA shuttles' Atlantis & Endeavour, as well as some of the launch pads at Kennedy Space Center.

{WISH LIST WEDNESDAY} #5 Cuz I Have To Share This Awesome Stuff. . .

Man oh man, how did I not realize how busy things were about to get?  We faced fiscal year-end at work and now I have been prepping for my first craft shows where I will be presenting my photography. Boy, am I nervous but I am too busy to think about it ;-) Anyhow, it's time to get back to my posting on this blog and what better way to start than with Wish List Wednesday?!? Despite our having record heat today, I still went with the fall themed items for the October and November months. Enjoy & thanks to everyone here who gave me the permission to feature their wonderful items.

How lovely is this? Just enchanting.

This is just too gorgeous to be faux leather! I am so glad it is and the wonderful deep red and swirls are just enchanting.

Were you aware that oil cleans the oil on our face? Yeah, oil has gotten a bad rap - natural oil that is - and this item is super awesome. I am dying to try it! Apply it to your dry face, rinse with lukewarm water, and voila! This article in Real Simple is what made me want to try it.

I'm always looking for new holiday decorations and this would be perfect. I have done vinyl decals before and they are super easy to apply.

Why have only one season when you can have these beautiful magnets with all four seasons displayed. The colors are just so vivid and the magnified effect makes me feel like I am looking into another world.

When I think fall, I think cold and then fire and then cuddling up -and all of that requires someone special. These tile coasters encompass all of the above in my mind.

What caught my eye about this cowl was the fact that it can be worn multiple ways. Versatility? Yes, please! This looks just so soft and warm. I would love to have this to guard me against cold winds.

Yes, you read that right. These are EDIBLE. How cool is that?!? I wish I had discovered a store like this when I was picking out my wedding cake. Edible decorations like these would have been just amazing.

There are three of these awesome monster cupcake wrappers in this collection. This guy was my favorite with the awesome orange hair and horns. Any kid, especially boys, would love this. Heck - even a BIG KID (aka adult) would!
Yum, yum, yum, yum, and again YUM. I know, not very verbose but, come on? I am too busy drooling right now to be able to type. Thank goodness I just ate dinner!

And as always, my plus one - cuz 10 never is enough!

At first glance, I thought this was a painting and was delighted to discover it was a photograph!

That's it for this week. Hope all is well and I will be back to post later about my first craft fair this weekend. Fingers crossed!

{PHOTO} The Leader Of The Parade

We're going to Disney this weekend (I'm somewhat of an addict), so I thought this photo would be perfect to feature. It's my 2nd cousin as he is watching the Animal Kingdom Parade. It was taken two years ago. I love his waving at the parade with his "stick" that we couldn't get him to put down once he had acquired it. I guess he looked at it like his own personal sword.

{PHOTO} Florida Fall

I know I've been quiet in regards to Facebook/Etsy/Twitter/Blogging. It's been a long couple of weeks at my day job, so my night time was my much needed downtime. I'm getting back into gear again and thought I'd present a photo of the day (an oldie but a goodie). This was taken last year at this same time of year and it shows what Florida's Fall season is like. Not quite the same rich red and amber tones of the North but definitely a noticeable change nonetheless.
